William Ridgway is Counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where his practice focuses on cybersecurity and data privacy matters, white collar crime, and intellectual property litigation. Previously, William served for eight years as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago, where he tried numerous cases and led the prosecution of a wide range of high-profile cybercrime, national security, fraud, and intellectual property cases. William has also been a lecturer at University of Chicago Law School since 2011, where he teaches a class on cybercrime. William began his legal career a law clerk for Honorable Vaughn R. Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and then for Honorable Richard A. Posner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. William received his J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School and his B.S. with distinction in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
