Future Founders Introduces New Format for Spring 2019 Residency
Future Founders recently launched the Spring 2019 Residency, our innovative early-stage accelerator serving 18 to 30-year-olds. The Residency provides participants with access to workshops, mentorship, and a national network of founders that allows them to explore opportunities to launch and grow their ventures. Future Founders is offering the Residency in-person to Chicago founders and virtually to national founders. The Spring Residency will include two phases: Residency Bootcamp and Residency Cohort.
The Residency Bootcamp is an experiential workshop series that exposes participants to the lean startup methodology, taking them from ideation to the launch of their own businesses. The bootcamp builds up a foundation of entrepreneurial knowledge across an audience of participants coming from a variety of experience, education, and socio-economic backgrounds. The program concludes with a pitch day, entrepreneurship certification, and completion stipend.
Select participants in the Residency Bootcamp who have exhibited drive and traction in building their companies will be invited to apply to the Residency Cohort. Residency Cohort members will have access to one-on-one mentoring with entrepreneurs, peer mentoring with Future Founders alumni, monthly Mastermind sessions, and opportunities to pitch for funding to support their businesses.
The Spring 2019 Residency includes 41 founders and 35 companies from a variety of industries including tech, fashion, food, and services.
The Residency in Chicago is made possible through a generous grant from the Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge, which is sponsored by the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, World Business Chicago, and ChicagoNEXT. The national Residency is supported by Google.org.
Applications for the Fall 2019 Residency will open in June. Interested founders can contact Tina Hrabak for more information.
